Hello and welcome,

My name is Amanda - I’m an LA native turned Bay Area transplant. I have a B.A. degree in Media Studies, which examines the impacts of mass media on contemporary life and culture. This understanding of media, consumers, and representations brings about an ethnographic element that is also essential to UX/UI Design given our layered identities, abilities, and accessibility needs. I currently work at Accenture, in which I’ve primarily focused on Digital Marketing, but I’m currently transitioning into the Design field.

I’m interested in UX Design because of the impact - by using empathy to understand people’s needs in order to create meaningful and effective solutions. I’ve completed training on Design Research and Service Design, as well as finishing a UX/UI Foundations course, thus I have a knowledge of Design concepts. Nevertheless, I am always learning and finding ways to continually expand my skill set. The ‘Portfolio’ tab highlights my project from the DesignLab UX/UI Foundations course; additionally, I’ve been able to dabble in Design wherever I can in consulting projects with my employer, such as creating a team website, and assisting a creative team with Project Management support.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, concerts, baking, roller skating, reading, and video games.
